Mike Wrout
Wrout & Son
Mike is the third generation to run the family farm in Lydd. His grandfather purchased the farm in 1956, and since then Mike and his family have been farming rotational crops and potatoes using traditional methods.
The potato harvest begins with early “scrapers” at the end of May, the season then continues through to just after Christmas.
Jempson’s work closely with Mike who supplies us with freshly dug potatoes from his field to our stores within the day of harvest. You can literally peel them with your thumb, you simply cannot get fresher!
When in season we stock Mike’s fresh scrapers, set skinned reds and whites. All available loose or in 12.5 kilogram sacks – one of our young men will be delighted to carry this to your car!
